A Guide When Visiting Adelaide

Posted on 22 January 2019 by (0)

This beautiful city in Australia was once considered a sleepy town. Then, there wasn’t anything much to do or see. Recently Adelaide has started to change into a bubbling city full of life and fun activities to do whether alone or as a family. The music festivals in Adelaide will entertain and mesmerize you and your family. There are small bars and restaurants that are coming up every day to accommodate people with different preferences. The city now buzzes with activities all year round.

When you get to Adelaide airport some shuttles can take directly to the hotel of your choosing so; you don’t need to worry about transportation. Once you get a bit of rest from your jetlag, there are things that you must do and places that you must visit to get the full experience of visiting Adelaide.

Go to Adelaide Hills

The hill is a huge tourist attraction not only for its beautiful scenery but also for the cold climate that it offers. These hills are also the home of some wineries like Bird in the hand famous for the wine like Shiraz or the Hahndorf hill which produces wine like St Laurent, Zweigelt, or Gruner.

You can tour the wineries and learn about all the grapes above and more.

After learning about wine, make sure you have lunch at The Lane Vineyard. Here you need to sample some Hereford dry aged strip loin, and crisp pork belly. If you are lucky, you will find the Adelaide hills farmers market that will enable you to have a taste of the fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Unwind at the beach

If you love the beach or want to relax and lazy around while you get a tan, then Adelaide has some terrific beaches for you to choose. If you have kids with you on this trip, then you should go to Semaphore, south of the city. Here the children can enjoy the handcrafted wooden horses; you can walk along the esplanades or swim. You and your family will surely enjoy. If surfing is your thing, then you will go to the Fleurieu Peninsula where you will find both the young and the old enjoying the waves.

You could also visit the Glenelg beach where you will find a lot of mingling going on. People love this place because it has a lot going at the same place; there are cafes that you could grab a drink in, hotels and shops with the beach overlooking it. Whichever beach you visit you and your family will surely enjoy what it has to offer.

With these few places being just the tip of an iceberg when you visit Adelaide it is correct to say that it is not a sleeping town.
